RESTAURANT VIOLATIONS HIT LONG ISLAND

A handful of Chinese and Japanese restaurants on Long Island agreed to pay a total of $ 1.7 million in back wages and damages covering a total of 363 workers for violating the Fair Labor Standards Act by paying workers below the minimum wage; failing to pay the proper payments for overtime; keeping employee tips and not keeping proper records.  The restaurants are Good Taste Buffet, Kumo Sushi, Crystal Garden, Nishiki, Hotoke, Kashi Sushi and Crystal Garden Buffet.
